Jacek Ostoya

Jacek is a practicing architect and designer with over 25 years of professional experience working in architecture, interiors, construction, and graphic design/branding. He enjoys and values a creative process which translates unique narratives into interesting, functional spaces for his clients. His recent work includes hospitality, retail, spa, and residential projects. He has successfully designed and completed bar/lounge spaces Novela, Barbarossa, Whitechapel, Love & Propaganda, and soon to open Madarae’s (2022) in San Francisco. His Los Angeles projects include Gordon Ramsey’s The Fat Cow at The Grove and Upgrade Labs at the Beverly Hilton hotel. In addition to creating popular and successful hospitality destinations he possesses the unique experience of owning and operating his own bar and nightclub establishments. As an entrepreneur, Jacek was the creator, designer, and co-owner of Harlot nightclub in San Francisco in addition to being a current owner and designer of Resident, a popular bar, beer garden, & live music venue in the Arts District of Los Angeles. This background has given him informed, useful insight “from both sides of the bar” that imbues his successful design for both operator and guest, as well as giving him the knowledge to navigate the choppy waters of feasibility, permitting, and entitlements.

Prior to joining RGA, Jacek was the principal and founder of Gold Grenade, a full service architectural and interior design studio. His past architectural experience includes working at large international firms HO+K and STUDIOS in San Francisco and as an Associate at Gensler Los Angeles. Over the years, he has worked on complex large-scale airport projects, high-tech corporate HQs, entertainment projects, corporate interiors, retail and mixed-use projects, as well as technically challenging R&D/manufacturing, museum, and healthcare facilities.

Jacek earned a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from U.C. Berkeley where he also studied music. He is a licensed Architect in the State of California.
